HandX is a 5 mm fully articulated software-driven handheld robotic system that ideally bridges the gap between laparoscopic and robotic surgery. The design of the system is very ergonomic, which allows the surgeon to hold and operate the system with more ease and perform the surgery with a lot of comfort compared to the conventional tools of laparoscopy. HandX allows the surgeon to easily reach the target anatomy with the software-controlled articulating tip (giving the exact degrees of freedom as any surgical robot) and perform the complex surgery precisely.
HandX offers the same degrees of freedom during the surgery, just like the other giant systems.
Unlike the hefty robotic systems, HandX doesn't require any special docking/undocking process, just draping the system with the camera cover.
Easy to quick-start, as it only needs to be directly connected to the power socket.
Software embedded - allows the surgeons to mimic their wrist movements to the tip of the instrument.
Efficient tip articulation enables the surgeon to easily get to the difficult anatomy with better results.
HandX offers two modes of operation, providing users with the flexibility to choose the method that suits them best.
The surgeon holds the system and stands beside the patient throughout the surgery, just like the conventional laparoscopic tool.
The instrument's shaft is 5mm in diameter, which can be introduced through the 5mm trocars justifying the M.I.S.
HandX provides tactile feedback to the surgeons, keeping the surgical experience intact.
Portable - It doesn't require dedicated O.T., unlike the Giant surgical robot, which means it can be utilized in other Operation theatres as well right after the usage in one O.T.
Doesn't demand maintenance, unlike the other enormous robotic systems.
Applicability in all the laparoscopic surgeries across the speciality, like the General, Gynecology, Urology, Thoracic, Colorectal, Oncology etc.
