There is an acute understanding that there has been a surge in the occurrence of cardiac events globally. Which means that our focus on alleviating suffering in humankind, and enhancing the lifestyle and health standards of people the world over, also must take a vascular route.
Furthermore, our understanding of the Basic Metal Stent led us to believe that there was more room for improvement, especially looking at the geography of the heart itself, and reducing the need for multiple stents for a single patient.
It was then that Biomime was born. Our first ever innovation in the field of vascular intervention.
The Product
Biomime, our drug-eluting coronary stent system, is built on a model combining low thickness and a stable, elastic polymer base, and is as thin as 65 microns.
Within our developmental process, we conducted clinical trials with1,700 patients, with follow ups over five years, to understand the efficacy of the Biomime.
